This vintage milk jug was originally carved out of wood by Turkana artisans. The Turkana are a Nilotic people native to the Turkana District in northwest Kenya. They refer to their land as Turkan and this artifact is something that would have been used in their everyday life to contain milk from the herds of goats or cattle.
Due to it's age, this has evidence of extensive use with remains of a leather strap/handle which was used as a handle to carry the vessel. Please refer to the pictures for condition.
